We had found this secret spot years ago when someone told me to ask at the local hot springs swimming pool about the “private tubs” in the back of the building. Hidden down a long hallway were plain doors that behind held a small room with empty tubs you fill yourself with water and soak in.
What a treat to find that this place was still operating and a lovely quiet respite from the bigger family pool filled with jumping happy children and soaking parents (not that I don’t adore swimming pools, as I do!)
We paid our $15 total (what a deal!) and the attendant led us back. Although a little hippie-funky looking in the hallway, the rooms were spotless and very clean and the rush of the warm water flowing into the deep tub had a wonderful sound.
We soaked, laughed and splashed and an hour later emerged renewed from our travels that day and the combination of privacy and mineral water therapy renewed not only our bodies but our connection as well.
Right now I’m just delighted to be aliveand to have had a nice long bath.
