I am resilient. And when I befriend myself, I am stronger.
I had hoped to start 2015 week strong and to move into the new year with strong actions that would make me leap out of the starting gate. Then two friends passed on the same day and my body invited me to slow down. Darn. How can this be? It’s not what I wanted but was what is.
And so I did what I know works: called my Coach for an emergency session to help me talk out what was happening and put into place a week long self care plan to support me, to help me listen to my body, and to respond in a way that is self-compassionate.
My new plan: this week I will live the gentle way. I will allow the freezing temps outside my door guide me to retreat within and gift myself what I recently heard from Torri Shafer, Esthetician from Pueblo, Colorado
“If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete.” Jack Kornfield
- What if you applied self-compassion to yourself this week? What then?
- What part of your life needs gentle befriending?
- Are you willing to trust timing in your life?
