It’s Sunday night and I’m preparing for the week. It’s mid-January and I have a busy week ahead with successful clients working on big goals. As their Coach, being ready is part of my job.
It is easy to lose myself in my week. Emails start flying, the phone rings, people want and need things. This is like most women at work (and not unlike women who work at home). But for me, I know my success lies in planning ahead of time how I want my week to go. It’s up to me to plan my schedule so that along with my many work appointments and administrative tasks I’m feeling energetic, healthy and inspired.
And so on Sunday evening I look at my datebook ( yeah, I keep an old fashioned paper and pen one) and write into it along with appointments, appointments for walking each day, yoga to keep me moving and stretching, and time to prepare food so I’m on top of eating healthy. My husband and I also coordinate our weekly schedules so we can meet up for lunch, walks, and soirees.
What makes my work week successful is:
Going out to my greenhouse each morning and harvesting my greens for the day feeds my soul as much as my body.
Listening to music increases my inspiration level which flows over to my clients.
Stopping between coaching sessions to step out in the cold wintry air and just notice and listen gives me a presencing that allows me to respond rather than react.
The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.
What is important to you this week? What is your schedule for success?
